Flexibility, creativity, and community – why working at esome is special for me
We have been fortunate to have Gianna-Emilia Mikeska as a working student in our People and Culture Team since April 2023. Gianna-Emilia is a student of business psychology at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and brings her passion for people and culture, along with her expertise in HR psychology, marketing, and business organization, to the table. She takes on a wide range of tasks with us and in the following article, Gianna-Emilia shares her experiences working with us and explains what makes esome so special to her.
Starting my workday with a cup of tea and planning my day is my favorite way to begin. As a People and Culture Team member, I’m responsible for various administrative tasks such as processing sick leave, managing sabbatical applications, preparing references, employment contracts, and contract amendments. Additionally, I support the employer branding area by coordinating and organizing guest lectures at universities. These lectures not only offer us the unique chance to present ourselves as an employer to students. We also see it as our mission to exchange knowledge with young people. Together with our account managers, we plan exciting and interactive lectures on social media advertising and marketing solutions. These presentations occur on-site at the universities or in our office in Hohe Bleichen. My first guest lecture took place at the end of November, and it was a pleasure to welcome the students to our beautiful rooms. In addition to these tasks, I’m responsible for managing our Instagram account. I capture all internal events through photos and videos, write small texts, and share them with our followers to give an insight into our everyday lives. I appreciate the responsibility, and I enjoy planning content creatively and independently.
I have a variety of tasks at esome, but what I enjoy most is the flexibility the company offers. Thanks to the possibility of mobile working, I can work in the office, from home, or anywhere else in the EU, which is perfectly compatible with my studies. I usually come to the office on one of my two working days. There, I have an excellent workplace in an area of my choice, and the atmosphere among the esomies is great. My personal exchange with my team on-site, our coffee breaks, and lunch together are precious to me. The best thing about esome is undoubtedly the authentic and appreciative people and the strong sense of community. We enjoy spending time together, whether at after-work events, sporting events, or at summer or Christmas parties. It inspires me how much esome values and actively promotes its strong corporate culture. By organizing the Christmas party, I could also contribute to this.
